ONLINE EXHIBITION – PAUL CUPIDO
When I saw Mount Fuji for the first time, bathed in crisp daylight, I was utterly enchanted. There is still speculation about the origin of Mount Fuji‘s name, contributing to the mystery of this almost perfectly triangular volcano. According to the tenth-century text “Story of the Bamboo Cutter”, the name derives from the word for immortal. Other texts mention that “Fuji” means incomparable or infinite.
The road to enlightenment, an ancient sage once said, is like descending from a mountain. What you see from the top is not what you see at the foot of the mountain. And what you cannot see can be seen from other parts of the mountain.
