CIG HARVEY

Cig Harvey (*1973) wurde ursprünglich in Grossbritannien geboren und lebt und arbeitet heute in ihrer Wahlheimat Maine in den Vereinigten Staaten. Sie wird in den USA von der Robert Mann Gallery in New York und Jackson Fine Art in Atlanta vertreten. Von der Bildhalle wird sie von nun an für den europäischen Markt repräsentiert. In den letzten fünfzehn Jahren hat Harvey weltweit ausgestellt, unter anderem an der Paris Photo, Art Miami, Photo London und AIPAD (New York). Sie hat bereits vier Bücher veröffentlicht, die allesamt in kurzer Zeit ausverkauft waren; ihr jüngstes Buch «Blue Violet» (Monacelli / Phaidon, 2021) wurde bereits nach einem Jahr in einer zweiten Auflage herausgegeben.

Cig Harveys Fotografien und Bücher befinden sich in den ständigen Sammlungen zahlreicher Museen auf der ganzen Welt, darunter das Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York), die New York Public Library, die Yale University, das Museum of Fine Arts (Houston, Texas), das Farnsworth Art Museum (Maine, USA) und das International Museum of Photography and Film at the George Eastman House (New York).

Sie wurde mit dem Prix Virginia Laureate (2018) und dem Maine in America Award des Farnsworth Art Museum (2021) ausgezeichnet. Sie war nominiert für das John Gutmann Fellowship, den Santa Fe Prize, den Prix Pictet und Finalistin für den BMW Prize, die Estee Lauder Collection, die Karl Lagerfeld Collection at Paris Photo, den Clarence John Laughlin Award und den Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize.
