Laurence Aëgerter developed a series of lithophanes made from extremely thin, translucent porcelain panels engraved with images that appear when illuminated, revealing a subtle, luminous effect. The works draw on photographs from Les Archives de la Planète, Albert Kahn’s early 20th-century project documenting cultures around the world. By translating these archival images into porcelain, Aëgerter transforms historical photographs into delicate objects in which memory emerges through light.
