Galerie Bildhalle is delighted to participate in the 28th edition of Paris Photo, held from 12–16 November 2025 at the iconic Grand Palais in Paris.

WATER AS MEDIUM AND METAPHOR

Water has long played a significant role in photography – both as an important element in analog developing processes and as a powerful, recurring motif imbued with symbolic meaning. This is reflected in Bildhalle Gallery’s program at this year’s Paris Photo fair. Centered on water as a symbolic and aesthetic thread, the presentation brings together contemporary artists who push the boundaries of the medium, alongside significant figures from the second half of the 20th century, shown in collaboration with their estates. The program encompasses a range of experimental printing techniques, as well as masterfully executed traditional analog processes. Water appears in the work of all exhibiting artists as a transitional space – between the visible and the invisible, dream and reality, life and death.

Bildhalle will be presenting works by Joost Vandebrug, Jeffrey Conley, Ilona Langbroek, Paul Cupido, Casper Faassen, Adam Jeppesen, as well as a selection of vintage prints by Louis Stettner.
